I grew up in the Midwest with parents who were passionate Foodies transplanted from the East Coast. My mother was an early devotee of Julia Childs, and, before any of our friends, very interested in the healthfulness of food. My father was a very instinctive cook who developed his own innovative ways of preparing basic dishes, but with amazing flavors. Iny my twenties, I became very interested in the healthfulness of food and have made a life-long study of diet and nutrition. For me, the perfect meal combines excellent nutritional benefits with outstanding flavors and textures. I use my 55 years of kitchen experience to understand and improve any dish. My greatest reward is the reaction to a helathful, perfectly cooked dish with perfect accompaniment.
