My love of food started at a young age as my mother would have my sisters and I in the kitchen helping to prepare extravagant vegetarian spreads for our family gatherings. She took us shopping at all the ethnic grocery stores from little India to little Italia, she knew all the local farmers and ensured we tasted food far beyond a typical North American palate. I found myself cooking professionally after studying a holistic culinary program that specializes in Personal Chef work. I did not enter this world straight after my certification, I found myself developing and training on recipes for large scale healthy food manufacturers and catering companies. I went on to running a Quality Control and Assurance program for a large local San Francisco produce company for four years, and back to heading a new vocational culinary program for a youth employment organization. After 12 years in the commercial world I now find myself back to the place I originally started, alas, I can call myself a personal chef feeding families in the greater East Bay Area. One family that sticks out to me started with a heavy animal protein based diet that now calls themselves flexitarian. That started when more fruits and vegetables entered their diet. Now they crave it. I work with most all proteins, but if you are looking for someone who truly understands a plant-based diet and how to create meals that can fulfill both your love as a carnivore , while adding more plants to the plate. I describe my food as "holistically healthy with a comforting twist". I am also an avid rower and can find me out on the water early mornings flying down the Oakland/ Alameda estuary!
Cooking Specialties: Italian, Mexican, OtherVegetarian Cuisine is my specialty, but my ultimate passion is cooking thoughtfully healthy meals that are comforting for all. I do work with most animal proteins.
