Baked Ginger-Tamari Tofu

Extra firm tofu is seasoned with tamari sauce, fresh ginger, garlic, green onions, and a bit of sesame oil, then baked in a hot oven for maximum flavor.

Cooking Tools Required

12-inch nonstick skillet, Baking sheet, Colander, Cutting board, Kitchen towels, Measuring cups and spoons, Mixing bowls, Mixing spoon, Oven, Sharp Knives, Spatula, Whisk

Ingredients

  • 35 ounce extra firm tofu cut into bite-size cubes and drained

For the marinade:

  • 4 tablespoon tamari sauce more or less to taste or dietary preference
  • 3 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon green onion thinly sliced

To finish:

  • 2 teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions

  • Make sure tofu is well-drained and as dry as possible before adding to marinade.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the marinade ingredients. Add in the cubed tofu. Coat well and allow to marinate for at least 15 minutes, turning often.
  • Meanwhile, pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet(s) with parchment paper.
  • Transfer tofu to baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle with sesame oil. Toss and serve.
Reheating Instructions
Heat in the microwave on medium-high power until heated through or in a saute pan over medium heat.
